Background:
Built in 1960, the main building houses seven classrooms, a kitchen, an administration office, and a hall. A new building, built in 1995, houses four classrooms and a staffroom. The school has a 'secret garden', meadow area, football pitch, tarmac play area, and two adventure playgrounds. A specially converted mobile classroom houses the reception class, and has its own playground. It has a 'reputation for good work' in special educational needs, with 56 per cent of children having SEN statements, there are four 'specialist learning centres' for children with different learning difficulties. Extra-curricular activities vary from term to term, but the main activities include football, netball, first aid, 'white harness club', choir, homework club. There are also additional activities on offer, such as cycle training, rugby, chess and rounders. 'The staff are a strongly knit team committed to getting the best from and for each child under our care'.
