Background:
Founded at the end of the 19th century, the school has a 'mixture of original buildings' with an 'extensive' playground, field and conservation area. There are three classrooms, a mobile classroom for drama clubs, assemblies and physical education. The school is set in a 'rural spot' with the chalk figure of the village white horse 'looking down upon it'. The school'shares its site with the village pre-school. Children 'enjoy' a range of extra-curricular activities ranging from sports clubs to a German class. Broad Town Primary School is a 'focal point' of village life 'supporting' its churches, village fetes and 'very successful' re-cycling centre. The 'very active' parent-teacher's association raises money to 'support the needs' of the school.
