Background:

Freshbrook Primary School serves a wide spectrum of families of very largely British heritage most of whom come from the streets surrounding the school on the southern edge of the town. Computers are used in all areas of the curriculum with a wide variety of software. Each class has at least one computer and the computer room houses 10 computers. The music curriculum aims to provide the skills for every child to understand and appreciate music in all its forms. There is a school choir which rehearses on a weekly basis and performs regularly. Concerts and music productions are regularly held. The school provides a range of activities to teach basic skills which include athletics, dance, games, gymnastics, swimming and outdoor adventure activities. It also plays team games against other local schools in football and netball. The school has good facilities for sport, including two halls, four hard surface areas, a large field and a wide range of apparatus and equipment. The school aims to provide a caring, safe and stimulating environment where, as valued individuals, children and adults learn to develop and achieve increasingly higher standards.
