Background:
St Augustine's Catholic College was established 30 years ago to provide a Catholic education for children in West Wiltshire and part of Somerset. It was Wiltshire's first grant-maintained school. The school has had a sixth form since September 1996, with its first A-level results in August 1998. More than £1 million has been spent on new buildings in the last four years, with new technology facilities and a new sixth-form block, newly-furbished science laboratories and a new library.
