Background:
Chiseldon Primary School is a non-denominational primary school of some 260 children aged five to 11, which is part of Swindon. The original building on this site opened in 1961 and consisted of only three classrooms and the wooden Pratten Hut which still stands by The Orchard, at the front of the site. The school has a wide range of extra-curricular activities including guitars, basketball, football, netball, cycling profiency, card making, juggling club. The school curriculum covers the following subjects religious education, geography, music, art, physical education and design technology. The school aims to provide a stimulating and secure environment where all children will develop a lifelong enthusiasm for learning.
