Background:
Haydon Wick Primary School was opened on 11th July 1974 moving from a nearby Victorian building. It houses seven teaching areas, a computer suite, quiet rooms, practical areas, the staff room and an administration office. The school also has a multi-purpose hall, library and resources/television room. There are also four classes in temporary accommodation. The school has its own playing field, hard playgrounds and an adventure playground, installed in 2001. The school offers various club activities including football, netball, recorder club and art/computer club. From time to time children will be taken on educational visits outside school, in connection with their class work. The school aims to create and maintain a happy atmosphere with the basic intention to help each child realise his or her maximum potential.
