Background:
The school was built is 1847 and is situated in the village of Manton. Major refurbishments and extensions have included completion of seventh classroom. Recent landscaping includes a giant covered 'round table' to seat whole class; 'Camelot' play castle; 'stone circle' seating area and a Gambian Kachedoola (seating area). Children in junior school play football, tag-rugby and netball; frequent matches and tournaments; annual swimming gala. After-school clubs and activities: football, netball, chess, recorders, accordion, sewing and art. Regular fundraising events for national charities; support from residents of village. The school provides a warm and enriching environment which will enable each child to achieve his/her own full potential in all areas of personal development. Everyone is seen as a life long learner; adult or child. Children enjoy childhood. Smiles and laughter are shared and everyone cares.
